Dirk is a stray that went unclaimed (in 2012)He is still here looking for a new and FOREVER home. Dirk is one of the staff's and volunteer's favorites. He is estimated to be around 3 years old. Dirk is a pretty easy dog to handle though he is a bit hesitant around other male dogs and should be introduced to them in a calm, neutral territory. He does love to play though with his doggy friends Like most dogs he's not a huge fan of cats so his new family should be cat-free. Dirk loves kids and enjoyed sleeping with a young boy while he was in a temporary foster home. Since Dirk has been in the shelter for an extended period, he may need a refresher on his house-training. Given his breed and age, he is quite calm, relaxed, and low energy.
